We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as Product Performance Manager

Reporting to the Director of Brand Management, the Product Performance Manager will be responsible for continually improving products within the Coghlan’s assortment. This leader will evaluate our existing product line for improvements in packaging, regulatory compliance, and product features. The Product Performance Manager must have working knowledge of the outdoors industry and be aligned with customer needs to perfect products, increase sales and ROI. This individual is a sourcing expert, striving to evaluate and  improve relationships with suppliers to yield the best return.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive product development and supply chain background. This dynamic leader will bring with them a proven history of product development with strong analytical skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the selection process of vendors on existing products to yield the best return for the organization while developing a strategic supplier base to further Coghlan’s long term growth.
  • Evaluate vendors on performance based on cost, delivery, quality, and communication.
  • Negotiate with vendors to yield preferred terms, costing, and delivery.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure targets are met.
  • Lead the product development team on packaging and content.
  • Analyze all products in the Coghlan’s line for performance metrics such as sales $, sell through, profitability, ROI and trends.
  • Create annual reviews of performance and positioning for all products in the Coghlan’s assortment. Recommend growth strategies based on prior performance and trends.
  • Understand and lead the organization in regulatory requirements. Ensure that all Coghlan’s products are compliant with regulatory bodies in North American and internationally.
  • Ensure all products are exceeding quality control standards, including testing and measuring product performance.
  • Collaborate, influence and work closely with the rest of the product development team, design, purchasing and logistics.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A high-energy, self-starter, with strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to use creative thinking and innovation.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development or equivalent supply chain management role.
  • Formal post-secondary education with either a bachelor’s degree in marketing, designation in supply chain management or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional organization skills and able to manage large multi-step projects from beginning to end.
  • Extremely detail oriented including the ability to manage workflows and understand the importance of accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Flexibility to react to market conditions and adapt as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills, including the ability to present concepts to product teams and review boards in a persuasive manner.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills with experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Experience in a design or manufacturing environment using textiles, plastics & metals is an asset.
  • Experience establishing and enforcing QC standards for products and vendors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Strong understanding of the outdoor products is an asset.

We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as Supply Chain Associate

Job Purpose:
Reporting to Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Associate will be responsible for ordering stock to adequately supply the customer's needs. This will include issuing purchase orders for the procurement of goods, tracking and maintaining the applicable purchase orders, and amending and updating as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Place initial orders and manage the replenishment of goods according to the forecasts from customers
  • Ensure adequate stock levels to provide excellent customer service
  • Communicate with suppliers when necessary for information on orders
  • Assist in various other duties in purchasing department

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3-5 years purchasing or planning experience
  • Detail-oriented with good written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with various departments in a friendly and efficient way
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Navision is an asset
